Is the Galaxy Alpha an iPhone killer?

Now that they control almost a ¼ of the smartphone market, according to IDC's latest figures, the South Korean-based Samsung has its sights on taking down Apple's iPhone. To accomplish this feat they are about to introduce the all metal Galaxy Alpha. The Alpha's all metal design is a first for the South Korean company setting it apart from the rest of the Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets.
When you first look at the Galaxy Alpha you will see the 4.7” screen that is the same size as the smaller of the two rumored iPhone 6s. Then, when you pick the smartphone up you will notice how well the 132mm x 66mm x 6.7mm (5.2” x 2.6” x 0.37”) body fits in you palm of your hand. At only 4oz the you will easily be able to Galaxy Alpha throughout your busy day. Then when you turn the smartphone you will notice the crisp viewing provided by the 1280 x 720 resolution on that 4.7” screen. When you turn the smartphone over you will notice the 12-megapixel camera that also has a heart-rate monitor next to it. One of the features you won't be able to see just by looking at the Galaxy Alpha is the fingerprint scanner on the home button.
The Galaxy Alpha comes equipped with the latest android operating system Kitkat (4.4.4). Some of the other software features of the smartphone are the 2.1-megapixel front-face camera for taking 'selfies' and video chatting, S health software, private mode to help keep your important files safe from anyone that may be looking over your shoulder and Samsung's ultra-power-saving mode that helps you get as much life as possible out of your battery. The Galaxy Alpha comes 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage for holding all of your apps and files.
At the heart of the Galaxy Alpha there is a quad-core Cortex-A15 processor running at 1.8 GHz plus a second quad-core Cortrex-A7 running at 1.3 GHz, the Exynos Octa 5430 chipset and a Li-ion 1860 mAh battery.
Samsung hasn't released a date for the phone but it is expected to be announce before the end of the month. There is also no price set at this time.
