The Pirates don't give the Seattle Mariners a happy welcome

Today the Seattle Mariners send Aaron Harang to the mound as they look to start a new winning after the devastating lose they suffered against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. In order to start a new streak they will have to knock off the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first of a two game series. It will be the Mariners first time looking at a national league team this season.

The 1^st inning starts as the Pirates take the field and the Mariners step up to bat. Michael Saunders is the first man up for Seattle as he grounds out. Jason Bay follows and works his way on via a walk. Kyle Seager is up next and flies out. Michael “The Beast” Morse is next and strikes out to end the top of the inning. In the bottom of the inning Starling Marte steps in first for the Pirates and gets an infield single. Travis Snider is next and brings Marte home with a double. Andrew McCutchen steps in and brings Snider home with a double. Garrett Jones follows with a ground ball for the first out. Michael McKenry in next and hits a fly ball for out two. Pedro Alverez steps in and strikes out to end the 1^st. The Pirates take a 2-0 lead over the Mariners.

The 2^nd inning starts as Justin Smoak steps into the batter's box and grounds out. Dustin Ackly follows him and lines out. Kelly Shoppach is the next one up to the plate for the Mariners and he strikes out to end the top of the inning. Jordy Mercer starts the bottom of the inning for the Pirate as he strikes out. Clint Barmes is up next and flies out. The Pirates pitcher Jeanmar Gomez steps in the batter's box and hits a line drive that is caught to end the 2^nd.

Brendan Ryan steps in to start the 3^rd off for the Mariners and grounds out. The pitcher Aaron Harang steps up next and strikes out. Then it is back to the top of the order for Michael Saunders who hits a single. With Jason Bay at bat Michael Saunders steals second. Jason Bay then works his way on via walk. With two on and two out Kyle Seager steps up and lines out to end the top of the inning. In the Pirates half of the inning Starling Marte is awarded first base after being hit by a pitch. Travis Snider is next and flies out. Andrew McCutchen hits a single to give Pittsburgh two on base. Garrett Jones is next and flies out. Michael McKenry follows up by hit a line drive for the third out.

The 4^th starts with Michael Morse stepping in and hitting a ground ball for the first out. Justin Smoak enters the batter's box and hits a single. Dustin Ackly steps in and hits into a double play to end the top of the inning. In the Pirates half of the inning Pedro Alverez starts off by striking out. Jordy Mercer is up next and strikes out. Clint Barmes is up next and hits a fly ball to end the 4^th.

The 5^th starts with Kelly Shoppach striking out. Brendan Ryan is up next and hits a ground ball for out two. Pitcher Aaron Harang steps in for his second at bat and strikes out to end the top of the inning. Josh Harrison leedsoff the bottom of the inning as he pinch hits for the starting pitcher Jeanmar Gomez. Harrison pops up to Justin Smoak for the first out. Starling Marte is up next and lines out. Travis Snider is next as he hits a fly ball to end the 5^th.

The top of the 6^th starts off Michael Saunders hitting a fly ball for out number one. Jason Bay hits a ground ball for out two. Then Kyle Seager steps in and hits a single. Michael Morse strikes out to end the top of the inning. In the bottom of the inning Andrew McCutchen leadsoff with a single. With Garrett Jones up McCutchen steals second as Jones strikes out. Michael McKenry is next grounds out. Pedro Alverez is up next strikes out to end the 6^th.

The 7^th starts out with Justin Smoak stepping up to the plate where he strikes out. Dustin Ackly is next and gets a single. Kelly Shoppach is up next and grounds out. Raul Ibanez steps in to pinch hit and brings dustin Ackly home with a double. Endy chavez pinch hits for Aaron Harang where he grounds out. Charlie Furbush takes over as pitcher and Robert andino fills in at short. Jordy Mercer starts off the bottom of the inning with a ground ball out. Clint Barmes is up next and strikes out. Brandon Inge steps in to pinch hit where he strikes out to end the 7^th.

The top of the 8^th starts with Michael Saunders striking out. Jason Bay steps into the batter's box and strikes out. Kyle Seager grounds out to end the top of the inning. In the Pirates half of the inning Carter Capps takes over the pitching duties. Starling Marte is the first batter and he hits a line ball out. Travis Snider walks and then steals second. Andrew McCutchen is up next and he hits a single. Garrett Jones follows with a 2-run homer to make it 4-1 Pirates. Michael McKenry is up next and strikes out to end the 8^th.

The 9^th starts with Michael Morse striking out. Justin Smoak is next and strikes out. Dustin Ackly is the last hope for the Mariners as he hits a ground ball to end the game.
