The Oakland Athletics take over first place in the west

After a big win last night against conference rivals the Oakland Athletics the Seattle Mariners are out to make it 2 in a row. To accomplish the task the Mariners will be sending rookie Erasmo Ramirez to the mound. The Athletics will oppose with pitcher Sonny Gray in a rematch of the game last week in Oakland to the Athletics won.

The 1^st gets underway as Erasmo Ramirez takes to the mound to face Oakland Athletics' leadoff hitter Coco Crisp who gets a single. The next man to the plate is Jed Lowrie who strikes out. That brings up Josh Donaldson and he hits a 2-run homer to give the Athletics an early lead. Next is Brandon Moss as he steps into the batter's box and he strikes out. Yoenis Cespedes walks up to the plate where he hits a fly ball to Abraham Almonte to end the top of the inning.
