The Texas Rangers outlast the Seattle Mariners

Tonight we were treated to a pitching duel for the first 4 and a half innings. In the bottom half of the 5th the Seattle Mariners were finally able to get to Texas Ranger starter Alexi Ogando with a leadoff double by Kelly Shoppach along with singles by Dustin Ackly and Jason Bay gave the Mariners a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the 6th the Ranger start off with a single and then on a ground ball, that looked like it would be an easy double play, went off of the end of Brendan Ryan's glove for an error. After a strike out Joe Saunders intentionally walked Adrian Beltre to load the bases. Joe Saunders was able to get Nelson Cruz to hit but not before the tying run scored for the Rangers.
After 2 outs in their half of the 6th inning the Mariners mounted a threat with a single by Kyle Seager and a walk to Kelly Shoppach. A fly ball by Dustin Ackly ended the inning and the Mariner threat.
Carter Capps took to the mound in the 8th inning for the Seattle Mariners. He doesn't have his usual stuff as he gives up a leadoff walk. He gets 2 quick outs but then back-to-back hits give Texas a 2-run lead. Carter Capps gets the next batter to end the inning.
The Mariners go in order in their half of the 8th keeping the game 3-1 Texas Ranger. Oliver Perez takes the mound for the Seattle Mariners in the top of thew 9th where he gets the Rangers out in order. The Rangers bring in their closer Joe Nathan and he quickly gets the Mariners out in order giving the Texas Rangers a 3-1 win.
