The Athletics humble the Mariners

After finishing up a horrible home-stand that saw the Seattle Mariners rack up only 2 wins they now start one of the most important road-trips of the season. The first 3 games will be played against the Oakland Athletics. A sweep could see the Mariners go for contention for the second wild card to the first wild card.

To start off the first game the Athletics are sending Jason Hammel to the mound. His first opponent will be Austin Jackson as he steps into the batter's box as he fly ball to Sam Fuld for an out. Dustin Ackley is the next man to the plate and he flies out to Sam Fuld who makes a great sliding catching. That brings Robinson Cano to the plate and he grounds out to Stephen Vogt to end the top of the inning. In the bottom half of the inning the Mariners will send Chris Young to the mound. His first opponent will be Sam Fuld as he steps into the batter's box as he ground ball to Robinson Cano for an out. Josh Reddick is the next man to the plate and he doubles. That brings Josh Donaldson to the plate and he flies out to Austin Jackson. Adam Dunn will try to keep the inning going as he hits a 2-run homer. With 2 in and the bases cleared Brandon Moss steps up to the plate and he walks. With one on and two out Jed Lowrie comes to the plate and he singles as Moss takes third. With runners at the corners and two outs Stephen Vogt steps up to the plate and he walks. Kendrys Morales will start the 2^nd inning with a ground ball to Jed Lowrie for an out. Kyle Seager is the next man to the plate and he singles. That brings Justin Smoak to the plate and he pops up into foul territory where it is caught by Eric Sogard. Endy Chavez will try to keep the inning going as he walks. With two on and two outs Mike Zunino will step up to the plate and he strikes out to end the top of the inning. Taijuan Walker will take over the pitching duties for the Mariners.
