Review: Twisted by Andrea Kane

Twisted by Andrea Kane is a suspenseful crime thriller that will keep glued to ever page until the end. As a reader you will want to savor every word as you lose yourself in this strange and twisted story involve murders, kidnapping, gangs and sex. You will find yourself getting caught up as you attempt to solve the case before ex-FBI agent Sloane Burbank and FBI special agent Derek Parker.
As the book starts it is approximately a year since Sloane Burbank walked away from the FBI after suffering a life threatening injury to her hand. After finishing up on her latest self-defense seminar she gets a call to solve the disappearance of a childhood friend that has been gone for almost a year. Ms. Burbank soon finds that there is more to this than a simple missing person case and she must face a past that she wanted to leave behind. That past includes FBI special agent Derek Parker who is the agent-in-charge of the original case and the injury that caused her to leave the FBI. Once she joins forces with special agent Parker the case becomes even more complicated when Ms. Burbank realizes that she is now not only the hunter but the hunted. It soon becomes a ace against time as Sloane and Derek try to solve the case before Sloane becomes a victim.
Ms. Kane does a terrific job of bringing a variety of highly believable characters to life in the pages of her book. Their is the main character Sloane Burbank the former FBI agent that now teaches self-defense courses in Krav Maga as well as being a crime consultant, Derek Parker the former Army ranger turned FBI agent, professor Lillian Doyle, Luke Doyle and many more. Each character, whether in the story throughout the book or just in a few pages, is richly developed with background and the piece they play in the storyline.
It is a thrilling story that I would recommend to anyone that is a fan of crime novels, mysteries or suspense of any kind. You will find the hours pass quickly as you get involved.
