Best places to get margaritas for Cinco de Mayo in Seattle-Tacoma

In a little over a month, May 5, we celebrate the 153^rd anniversary of Cino de Mayo. It was on that date in 1862 that Mexican forces in the small town of Puebla de Los Angeles, Mexico defeat overwhelming French forces. Contrary to popular belief it is not Mexican independence day as it widely believed in the United States.

Cinco de Mayo is the day of the year that we like to dine on Mexican food as we sip margaritas. Lucky for us here in the greater Seattle area there are plenty of places we can find both great dishes and good margaritas. The following list is just a few of the best of those places:

• Poquitos: Located at 1000 E. Pike St. in Seattle's Capitol Hill district you will find Poquitos. There you can sit back and sip on their self-named margarita made with a fine el Jimador Reporado brand tequila, organic citrus juices, and triple sec. While there you can dine on such great fare as tortilla soup, Baja fish tacos, chicken mole enchiladas, and have a churro for dessert.
• Nacho Borracho: Here you can celebrate Cinco de Mayo with one of their classic margaritas or try either their passionfruir or avocado margaritas. While you are there you might try one of their other tequila based cocktails, beers, or some of the street fare like taco salad or nachos. Nacho Borraacho is located at 209 Broadway in Seattle.
• Fogon Cocina Mexicana: Located at 600 E Pine St in downtown Seattle you will find Fogon Cocina Mexicana where you can get choose from a variety of margaritas from the traditional to a mango infused. While there you take some time to also try their fine selection of favorites from their menu. Their selection includes quesadillas, tamales, chile relleno, flan, and much more.
• Chavez: Come on down to Chavez for your Cinco de Mayo celebration and sip on a margarita. While you are there yo can order one of their great taco selection including lamb, short rib, shrimp, and chicken.
• The Matador: Located in the heart of downtown Tacoma you will find The Matador where you can sip on a margarita or one of their other tequila-based cocktails. While there you might try one of items from their yummy menu.
